Pastor R. Wayne Clark has served in Ministry since 1968, when, at age 22,

he pastored the Universal City Assembly of God while serving a four-year

stint in the Air Force. He met his wife, Judy, at Southwestern Assembly of

God College in the Fall of 1970. They were married on July 9, 1971, and

their entire lives have served in full-time Ministry! The Clarks have 4

children: Stacy, Donice, Rob, and Cory. They proudly have 16 Grandkids

and 5 Great Grandkids!

They have pastored churches in Ohio, Vermont, Northern California, and

Texas. Wayne and Judy served as pastors of First Assembly of God in San

Antonio from March 1996 to January 1, 2018. They are honored to serve

as the first South Texas Ministry Network Seniors Ministry Directors.

The Ministry, “Seniors With Purpose” (SWP), challenges our Network

Seniors to remain engaged, loyal, and faithful to their church and church

leadership, as well as providing ministry, activities, and fellowship

opportunities, and some great events and trips!

SWP has a Missions element and has done a number of Missions

projects at home and abroad. In the Amazon Jungle (Built a church in 4

days!)Managua, Nicaragua (Refurbished a children’s outreach facility);

Katowice, Poland (worked on Ukrainian Refugee Housing); Beauvais,

France, (Worked on a local church building), as well as several Home

Missions projects.

SWP has a motto: “No Coasting to the Finish Line”!

Seniors are among the most valuable and sometimes underutilized resources the church possesses. One of our primary goals is to equip the local church for ministry to Seniors as well as by Seniors!

The Clarks have been doing a live, Facebook Singalong since March 2020, when Covid hit! Each Tuesday at 2:00 PM, they do songs that Seniors love. Join them on Tuesdays, Facebook- “Seniors With Purpose” at 2:00 PM, and join other Seniors from South Texas and all over the U S, as well as some from around the world!
